Depressed about.....?

i have terrible eyesight. i can't see anything clearly unless it's 5 inches from me. and i'm constantly depressed about this and i feel like giving up. i'm only 14, and by the time i'm 21 for my lasik, i'm afraid of going legally blind or such bad vision that i may not be able to not do anything i enjoy such as sports. should i be worried? what can i do to keep my current vision all the way until 21?
